40 West Arts - Where Art Means Business!

40 West Arts is definitely a “where”—a creative district, a destination to explore and discover its unique culture (both old and new).  But, it’s also a place where the business of creativity happens!  From the more than 120 creative enterprises located in or near the district to the creative pulse emanating from the Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design in the heart of the district, 40 West Arts is a creative destination where painters, sculptors, glassblowers, woodworkers, metalworkers, musicians, actors, motion artists, and makers of all kinds gather to connect, collaborate, and celebrate creativity!

40 West Arts is working to champion the renaissance of historic West Colfax (US 40) by fostering corridor engagement through community arts spaces and events, by delivering hands-on arts-related education and experiences, and by promoting economic vibrancy throughout the district.

40 West Arts--Where Art Means Business™!

40 West Arts, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, is all about the arts—arts of all kind—and the energy and inspiration of creativity. 40 West Arts is a Colorado Certified Creative Arts District with a dozen galleries (and growing), multiple performing arts venues, more than 20 public art installations, and an eclectic variety of restaurants, cafés, diners, and pubs. 40 West Arts also operates a gallery that serves as a creative hub for its 100+ artist members and a gathering place for the West Colfax Creative community. 40 West Arts is focused on delivering direct, positive impact to help catalyze the resurgence of the West Colfax Corridor—the historic heart of Lakewood—through arts & culture and the energy of creative enterprises.
