Live At Light Rail

Mayor Adam Paul asked 40 West Arts to activate the public plaza area at Lakewood-Wadsworth light rail station with music and live performances from the community. The Lakewood-Wadsworth light rail station (14th Ave. & Wadsworth Blvd., one block south of W. Colfax) is the premier station on the W Line and is located in the heart of 40 West Arts District. This program will add to the City of Lakewood and 40 West Arts’ shared mission to deliver direct, positive impact to help catalyze the resurgence of the West Colfax Corridor–the historic heart of Lakewood–through arts & culture and the energy of the creative enterprises.

40 West Arts has assembled a team to offer an unparalleled opportunity for local organizations, ensembles and music departments from local schools and music groups to perform at the light rail station. On a weekly basis during good-weather months (most Wednesdays from 4:30-6pm), the goal is for light rail patrons to be greeted with creative performances as they arrive and depart from the station. From high school ensembles and undergrad percussionists to adult choir groups and drum circles, Mayor Adam Paul welcomes creative groups of all ages and specialties to bring a new “experience” to the station and the community.

This is part of the 40 West Connects program! Funding provided by Xcel Energy Foundation and Lakewood W. Colfax BID.
